Friends,
I am working on this series so over the next 4 or so weeks each Wednesday a blog will be out and focused on FEAR. Why we have it. What to do with it. How to get through it. It comes up in so many conversations, circles and calls. Let’s address it. Let’s talk about it. Let’s call it what it is. But let’s not let it stop us any longer.
……………………….
Part 1 on Fear.
Fear.
I wanted to spend a bit of time around this topic. We all have it. There is shame around talking about it.
Fear can stop us in our tracks when we aren’t careful.
AND
Fear can be a great motivator.
I want to talk about it.
I want us to look fear in the eyes.
I want us to name it.
I want to share tools to navigate it.
I want to see you, in your power, pushing through it.
I want us to live a life in gratitude, not in fear.
Over the next few weeks, I am going to write about what we fear, why we fear it and explore tools to help us all bust through with gratitude.
So this week – what are you afraid of?
Failure
Success
Love
Making money
Letting someone in
Abandonment
Stepping out of your comfort zone
Can I talk just for a minute here about our fear of failing?
FRIENDS – We are all going to fail sometimes.
We are going to have failed business.
Failed marriages. Failed friendships. Failed dinners.
Failed ideas. Failed recipes.
Failure is part of life.
Can you look at that thing that is failing in your life right now and stop…
Look at it.
Don’t just glance.
Acknowledge it.
What about our fear of success?
This one has kept me awake at night. What does success look like? How will it ever be enough? How will I ever be enough? Why do I “look” successful and struggle financially? What will people think? What will people say?
What about your fear of abandonment? How were you raised? Who broke your heart? Who do you think will let you down? Who is letting you down?
These are just inquiries to help us get clear on what the fear is and where it is coming from – this is the work we must do.
I love this quote from an article from INC “If you try something and fail, you go back to what you knew. You may not be happy about it, but you go back to your comfort zone. If you try something and succeed, you head into uncharted territory. Things are different. Things change.” You can read more about that here.
We want it so bad yet we are still caught in the old ways of belief and self limiting actions.
Friends, we have to honor these feelings.
Friends, we have to use fear as a great teacher.
Friends, we have to see & acknowledge the bad and use it to find more good.
What’s your fear? Share it with me.
Let’s work over the next couple weeks to look at the fear and learn some tools to help change that.
In Gratitude,
Rachel
